Landmine Impact Survey
The Landmine Impact Survey in Armenia summarizes the results of a nationwide socio-economic survey of the affects of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) on communities in Armenia. This document is only one in a series of reports, which collectively constitute the Global Landmine Survey Initiative. This initiative aims to catalog the socio-economic impacts caused by landmines and UXO and to store this data in a manner that supports strategic national planning and resource allocation decisions.
Baseline Study on Human Rights Education in Armenia
This is the first comprehensive assessment of human rights education in Armenia, which is to be used as a basis for the development of a national strategy and plan for human rights education in the country. The objective was to assess human rights education activities in Armenia in the framework of the UN Human Rights Education Decade with a focus on existing programs for human rights education and curricula at all levels of formal education for all groups and programs for continuing professional development.
Conceptual Approaches to State Policy Development in the Field of Professional Education in Armenia
The role of effective functioning of the professional education system in a country is of crucial importance. With the aim of supporting state policy development and increasing effectiveness in the education sector of Armenia, UNDP has developed conceptual approaches, based on the request of Ministry of Education and Science. Six sociological surveys were conducted and analysis of state statistical data were carried out, as a result of which a list of suggestions and recommendations has been worked out regarding the implementation of state policy in this field.
Reform of Armenia's Science Administration
Because of the country's transition to an innovation model of development; in order to bring research and technology development up to international standards; to make Armenia's science sector capable of conducting modern and internationally competitive research in areas of key national interest; to conduce to the European integration of Armenia's science sector; to improve administration and institutional management and alignment of research institutions and their agendae according to areas of key national interests; and to enable imrpoved quality of training of young scientists at graduate and post-graduate levels in accordance with highest international standards, the Government of Armenia has asked UNDP to carry out a research on ways to reform the science administration in Armenia.
Gender and Change e-Newsletter
The fourth issue of the Gender and Change e-Newsletter was jointly prepared by UNDP "Gender and Politics in Southern Caucasus" programmes in Armenia and Georgia. These two UNDP offices were the first to fulfil the innovative approach of preparing the newsletter on rotational basis. This Newsletter is foreseen to become a forum for all UNDP country offices in our region to showcase their work in paving the way towards gender equality and empowerment of women.
A Statistical Booklet "Women and Men in Armenia"
This statistical booklet contains gender-disaggregated data in the spheres of governance, health care, social security, education, employment and family. It is a result of the co-operation between the National Statistical Service of Armenia and the UNDP/Ministry of Labour and Social Issues joint programme on Gender and Politics in South Caucasus. This booklet focusing on the statistics on men and women in Armenia. The booklet is intended for use by policy makers, civil society, local and international experts, mass media and the public at large.

Armenia Social Trends Bulletin is a joint publication of UNDP Armenia and the Government of Armenia. UNDP is committed to supporting the Government in its efforts to implement the Poverty Reduction Strategy and achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
Human Poverty and Pro-Poor Policies in Armenia Report
Report is prepared by a group of national experts based on the results of the National Human Development Survey (NHDS). The Report hinges on social monitoring databases and methodologies created with UNDP Armenia support, as well as pro-poor policies developed by UNDP.
Land Reform, Rural Poverty and Inequality: A Pro-Poor Approach to Land Policies
The purpose of the paper is to encourage public discussion on issues related to rural poverty and inequality, land consolidation and agricultural productivity. According to the author, the recent high growth rates in agriculture have not lead to a significant reduction in overall rural poverty. He argues that role of small land ownership, as a safeguard against poverty, is diminishing and this is the key reason why rural poverty continues; and in rapidly changing markets the bargaining position of small peasants is weak.
Republic of Armenia Report on Post-Beijing Activities of Women's NGOs
Around 60 non-governmental organizations dealing with gender-related issues are currently active in Armenia; their activities are also aimed at the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action. This Booklet portrays the activities of some of these organizations.

Within the frameworks of the Beijing Platform for Action, the Government enacted decrees "On the Fundamental Principles of the Program on Improving the Status of Women in the Republic of Armenia" and "On Approving the National Action Plan on Improving the Status of Women and Enhancing Their Role in Society".
Impact of regulated price adjustments on price variability in a very low inflation transition economy: Case of Armenia
This paper examines the impact of monetary policy and administrative price adjustments on price variability in a low inflation economy characterized by relatively frequent administrative price adjustments. The impact of macroeconomic policy and structural adjustments on income distribution and rural poverty incidence are also examined. This research has immediate policy implications, since Armenia will continue to undergo major upward price adjustments of regulated prices, which may have a negative impact on income distribution unless aggregate demand management is changed.
Report on the Results of the National Survey on the Drug, Alcohol and Smoking Prevalence among the General Population
The Report presents results of the first National Survey on Drug, Alcohol and Smoking Prevalence among the general population of Armenia. The aim of the survey was to find out the prevalence of illicit drugs and pharmaceuticals, alcohol and smoking, as well as highlight public perceptions and attitudes towrd the abovementioned practices. The results were summarised and published as a report in Armenian and English.
Virtual Consulate Primer: How to design and implement an e-Visa programme
This publication was prepared by UNDP Regional office in Bratislava, Slovakia, and it refers to the successful implementation of an e-Visa project by UNDP Armenia office. The book presents the examples of Armenia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, working in cooperation with UNDP and Hewlett-Packard towards e-governance solutions within the rubric of the MDG agenda.
Human rights, Good Governance and the Rule of Law: Role and Relevance of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia (Manual for Trainers)
This manual is designed to be useful to public servants through informing them about the relevance and importance of Human Rights, the Rule of Law and Good Governance; the general role of the Institution in this context; the Institution's policies, especially its view concerning the expected and desired behaviour of public servants towards ordinary people and the way deserved criticism is expressed and conveyed, when such behaviour is not provided; the Institution's work methods with special respect to individual cases; and the way public servants and the authorities concerned should respond, if contacted by the Institution.
Set of Human Rights Booklets
This set of booklets in Armenian is prepared under the slogan "Let's Be Aware." It addresses three groups of human rights: Right to work, Right to fair trial, and Freedom of access to information. All the booklets are prepared in the form of questions and answers, and are envisaged for wide dissemination among civil society, mass media, experts, students and public at large.
Armenia National Millennium Development Goals Report
This is the first progress report of Armenia against a set of nationalized and localized MDG targets and indicators. It helps to better focus on Armenia's development prospects and contributes to better alignment of priority setting, policy review, budget discussions and donor assistance.
What We Know About Human Rights. Armenia National Survey.
This publication presents the findings of a nationwide survey on human rights in Armenia which was conducted in October 2004 within the "Promoting Human Rights and Facilitating Public Awareness of the Public Defender's Office in Armenia" joint project of the National Assembly of Armenia and UNDP. The survey was designed and conducted, and the report was prepared by the Turpanjian Center for Policy Analysis at the American University of Armenia. The Netherlands Minister for Development Cooperation funded the project.
