(2) Strengthening institutional capacity of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Justice and the Police of Armenia for an adequate national response to HIV/AIDS through prevention activities within the uniformed services.
(3) Developing national strategies and policy recommendations based on situation and response analysis that addresses HIV/AIDS within national uniformed services with an emphasis on young recruits and demobilized personnel.
(4) Raising awareness of HIV/AIDS and related issues among uniformed services employees, with an emphasis on young recruits.
In addition, in partnership with World Vision International Armenian Branch and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, UNDP will support the Government of Armenia to rehabilitate the National Centre for AIDS Prevention, laboratories in Yerevan and five provinces and to provide drugs and commodities/equipment to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS. In its work, UNDP Armenia will collaborate with key national agencies, international organizations and NGOs working on HIV/AIDS- related issues in Armenia.
