The Prime Minister of Armenia, Mr. Tigran Sargsyan , expressed his appreciation to Ms. Consuelo Vidal, the UN Resident Coordinator for achievements in promotion of UN values and for productive cooperation with the national partners.

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Mr. Tigran Sargsyan, expressed his appreciation to Ms. Consuelo Vidal, the UN Resident Coordinator for achievements in promotion of UN values and for productive cooperation with the national partners.
Consuelo Vidal is finishing her tenure in Armenia after more than four years of successfully leading the coordination of the work of UN agencies, Funds and Programmes in Armenia, in accordance to the UN mandate and in close cooperation with the Government of Armenia.
During these years the UN family substantially contributed to the country's efforts aimed at sustainable development, improvements in the area of poverty reduction, food security, health care, education and gender equality, and providing with shelter for those who are in need. The UN in Armenia assisted the national institutions in strengthening of human rights and rule of law in the country, protection of children’s rights, promoted youth issues and provided humanitarian assistance and worked on environmental protection and climate change issues.
Ms. Vidal said: "Without dedication, hard work and enthusiasm of our governmental and other partners we would never achieve so much. All our projects are aimed at sustainable human development in the country and we are trying to reach out to each and every Armenian. In particular, I am proud of our successes in the regions of Armenia, as, addressing inequalities requires even more attention and support of authorities and international organizations."
The UN Resident Coordinator in a country, the designated representative of the UN Secretary-General, works closely with national governments, coordinating UN Agencies, Funds and Programmes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities at a country level. Resident Coordinator advocates for the interests and mandate of the UN while drawing on the support and guidance of the entire UN family.
