CHAPTER 3. SOCIAL COHESION AND COOPERATION

When analyzing societal processes it is very important to focus on the degree of social cohesion and cooperation. The objective indicators of social cohesion are the inter-linkage of separate groups of society to the whole, the degree of political participation of groups in social life, the extent of integration of this or that group and the balance of their interests, the level of adaptation of social norms and values and the level of social conflict. Subjective indicators of social cohesion can be found in the consent of the majority to the proclaimed goals, and the means to achieve these goals, the compliance of individual behavior to the functioning norms and the sense of cohesion.
